Making coffee by Summit Lake, Northern BC.

The company that I worked decided to put me on unpaid leave due to my vaccine status. It’s one of the greatest blessing from the universe. It’s really easy to get sucked in the mining industry. Next thing you know, you wake up at 40 with little to show for.

But still. I’m sad. I liked the company and my honest work. I felt so disrespected, so discriminated. I was one of the very few left that didn’t quit over the mandate. I wrote letters imploring the management to reconsider their position. None of them got back to me. None of them care. If anything, I was a sore point, the black sheep of the site.

Never again will I give my precious time to a corporation (unless I truly want to). It is a brutal lesson. Every man (and woman) should be in control of their destiny. I will be working full time on my coffee and dog food business from now on, and another side project.

My options are this: I either make it, or I make it. As I’m approaching my 30th, it’s the perfect time to give everything I have into making a business that supports me and my family.

Out.
